He performed for RIMEA All-State on both instruments during this time as well. He then went on to join the NEC Prep School to focus on the saxophone, performing with the Senior Massachusetts Wind Ensemble as principal for his final two years of high school. To maintain his violin chops, he also performs with the South County Chamber Orchestra during summers

Gian also participated in several workshops and festivals during high school, such as the National Youth Wind Ensemble, Honors Performance Series Wind Ensemble, Liceu Saxophone Festival, and BU Tanglewood Institute Saxophone Workshop. In these various opportunities, he performed under the baton of Colonel Jason Fettig, Dr. Kevin Sedatole, and Kirt Mosier; worked with professors Ken Radnofsky and Jennifer Bill; and performed as principal saxophone at Carnegie Hall.

His musical achievements include the aforementioned Howland Music Award, Music on the Hill 2nd Place Scholarship, Fourth Place Prize Winner of the London International Music Competition, and Honorary Mention in the Medici International Music Competition.

He currently studies saxophone performance with Dr. Jennifer Bill at Boston University, where he performs in the BU Wind Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble, and chamber groups all whilst freelancing outside of class. His freelancing work includes playing in pit ensembles for musicals/operas and substituting for orchestras and wind ensembles.

Outside of music, Gian is pursuing a dual degree at Boston University in mathematics with a concentration in statistics. He also competes in Olympic-style weightlifting with Providence Barbell Club in Rhode Island.
