Short Bio
Gian D’Agostino is an 19-year-old saxophone player from Rhode Island, USA, with a palpable enthusiasm for all things music. A recent high school graduate in RI, he now studies saxophone performance at Boston University under Dr. Jennifer Bill for his undergraduate degree. His dedication to classical music shines in his sensitive, yet powerful, solo voice on the saxophone, however, he also has extensive experience with wind ensemble, symphony orchestra, chamber music, and pit orchestra repertoire. His versatility on the saxophone is compounded with violin, viola, and clarinet playing, giving way to a truly promising—and comprehensive—music career.
Gian is a former member of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School and The New England Conservatory Preparatory School, most notably serving as principal saxophone in the Senior Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble for his final two years in high school. Other notable performances have been with the Honors Performance Series Wind Ensemble and the National Youth Wind Ensemble. From his high school, he earned the Howland Music Award for excellence in instrumental playing, along with the 2nd Prize Scholarship from Music on the Hill RI.
